On my journey to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle, I am often looking for ways to recreate my favorite foods in healthier ways. I love condiments like mayonnaise, ranch, and ketchup. Sadly, they aren’t very good for you. I am trying to eliminate them or use them very sparingly in my diet.
I have heard of substituting Greek Yogurt for mayonnaise in recipes before but I have always been a little hesitant. Well, I am sold now. My chicken salad turned out so delicious. I might even like it better than the traditional version with mayonnaise. My favorite part is that greek yogurt has no fat and a 6 ounce container of it only has 100 calories. This recipe uses even less than the 6 oz package. Woohoo!
Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad
Ingredients:
2 cups chopped chicken – I used leftover rotisserie chicken.
1/3 heaping cup celery
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
Pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Combine the chicken, celery, almonds, and cranberries in a bowl.
2. Add the Greek yogurt and stir until everything is coated in yogurt.
3. Add pepper to taste. I personally like a lot.
4. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
This recipe is really versatile, you can add or subtract any of the extra ingredients that you like. I went pretty heavy on the celery because I like the crunch and I was viewing it a little like filler. It’s inexpensive and low in calories. Double bonus!
Here are some serving suggestions for your Chicken Salad:
- Sandwich
- With Crackers
- In a lettuce cup
- In a wrap
I really enjoyed mine in a 100 calorie wheat wrap with green leaf lettuce and vine ripened tomatoes. It was so delicious and I can’t wait to make this again!
I hope you enjoy! I would love to hear how you like it if you give it a try.

This looks great! I love the cranberries instead of the traditional grapes, and the greek yogurt gives you that added protein that mayo can’t provide! We’d love for you to link up with us for Tasty Tuesday over at aletteredlife.blogspot.com!

I had the urge to eat chicken salad before Friday (as I am observing Lent and will not eat meat on Fridays), so I looked up this recipe and tried it today for lunch! My mother and I loved it. We also added chopped baby carrots to our chicken salad, and we served it over raw spinach. Delicious! :O)
