We hit an exciting milestone in our house this morning. My daughter lost her first tooth. She has been so anxious to lose a tooth ever since her big brother lost one about 2 years ago. She is so anxious for the tooth fairy to visit her AND she really wanted a monster tooth fairy pillow of her own.
Of course I had to make it a little more girly. She requested pink and purple, and she LOVES hearts. The fabric is a swirly scroll heart pattern. She hasn’t seen it yet, but I think she is really going to love it. I found some heart buttons in my stash, which I think really puts it over the top in the girly department.
These pillows come together very quickly. I used the instructions over at The Long Thread to make my pillows. The only changes I made were to the eyes. I cut hearts out of pink felt for the pink monster. On the green monster, I skipped the felt all together and just used large buttons.
Here is my little cutie right after we pulled the tooth. It had been hanging on by a thread for a week, so we finally just pulled it.
Oh and it was worth a mention that the Tooth Fairy isn’t that generous at our house. I had to raid my wallet for the photo shoot. I think the Tooth Fairy sticks to dollar bills usually.
Does the Tooth Fairy get up to anything special at your house? Let me know in the comments.

These are so great! Love them! I’m totally down for making one of these, however, my kids get more along the lines of 3 shiny quarters per tooth! Maybe a buck 😉

What a cute pillow! I’m acquainted with the cheap tooth fairy as well…a dollar in quarters are most common.

Our son has not lost any of his teeth yet but I’m going to have to get on it and make something soon. These pillows are so cute. I’ve seen tooth shaped ones but I like monsters better. 🙂
