I had this funny notion that once both of my children were in school full time that I would all kinds of free time. The jokes on me! I don’t think I have ever been busier in my life. We get home from school at 3:30, then there is the massive pile of school papers to deal with, helping with homework, the kids always want a snack, and all that other late afternoon stuff. Making dinner is usually a crazy and chaotic time. Unfortunately that means that by the time my husband gets home, I’m on the grumpy side and I have a bit of “crazy eyes” going on.
Enter Dream Dinners. It’s such a brilliant idea. Dream Dinners is a meal preparation solution that can save you up to 15 hours a week in shopping and prepping your food. I am a bullet point kind of person, so let me explain how it all works.
- Choose your entrees from a menu that changes monthly.
- Make your appointment and go to Dream Dinners at your scheduled time.
- At Dream Dinners, move from station to station following their easy recipes to assemble your meals.
- Take the meals home, pop them in the fridge or freezer.
- When you are ready for a meal simply follow the cooking directions on the package. Some require thawing in the fridge, but a lot of them can go straight from freezer to oven.
They do the shopping, prepping, and clean-up. I think that deserves to be repeated. They do the shopping, prepping, and cooking! I had the chance to attend the opening of the newest Dream Dinners in Scottsdale Arizona and try the process out first hand. I loved it! Here’s a fun collage I posted on Instagram of the night.
The menu had a wide range of options, so I was able to pick meals I knew my family would enjoy. The meal assembly was so simple. The recipes are clear and easy to follow. I love that I can have a home cooked meal without spending hours in the kitchen. I prepped 6 different meals in about one hour.
They have a nice big refrigerator and you are designated your own shelf while you are prepping your food. This was all 6 of my meals. I choose Chicken Parmesan with Garlic Bread, Cattleman’s Pie, Santa Fe Shredded Pork Burritos, New Orleans Jambalaya, Market Salmon with Corn Medley, and Pecan Crusted Pork Chops with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Don’t they all sound wonderful?
Let’s talk about how things went after I got home with my meals. Here’s how my afternoon looked yesterday. We got home from school, and started the papers, homework, and snack. At about 4pm, I threw some New Orleans Jambalaya in the oven and went back to doing my thing. I was able to give the kids my full attention and we had a much nicer dinner experience because of it. Not to mention it was tasty!

In short, the dinner fairy really does exist. She just happened to start a company called Dream Dinners. I have some exciting news. I am partnering with some other awesome bloggers to give away a $200 Dream Dinners gift certificate. It can be used at any Dream Dinners location in the country. Woo hoo! Although, if you happen to win and you are in Arizona, I would say you are extra lucky. We had the best experience. Two sisters own the three locations in the Phoenix area, and you can tell they really just love what they do.
You can enter the giveaway in the Rafflecopter form below. Good luck!
