I really just love the Fourth of July, or Independence Day if you want to get all official. I also love cute food. I really feel like food tastes better when it looks great. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of fun themed food ends up being dessert. Today I’m sharing a fun, festive, and delicious recipe for American Flag toast. It’s quick and easy to whip up and would be a great addition to your 4th of July breakfast table. Oh and double bonus, this toast was made on homemade bread. I’m sharing the recipe for honey wheat bread too!
American Flag Toast
Ingredients
- 4 slices honey wheat bread, toasted (recipe HERE)
- Whipped Cream Cheese
- Fresh Blueberries
- Squeezable Strawberry preserves
- 2 Bananas, peeled, sliced in half lengthwise and then sliced in half again
Instructions
- Toast the bread.
- Spread the whipped cream cheese on each piece of bread.
- Place the blueberries in 3 even rows in the upper left hand corners to resemble the stars of the flag.
- Squeeze the strawberry preserves in a line across the top of each piece of bread to resemble a "stripe" of the flag.
- Place the banana slices underneath the strawberry "stripe" to resemble the white stripe of the flag.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach the bottom of the bread.
I just love it when something really simple can pack such a great punch. Any bread will do for the toast but wouldn’t it be amazing on some homemade honey wheat bread? Don’t worry I’ve got you covered on that. Head over to Page 2 and check out the recipe.

Seriously yummy! My daughter is a super picky eater, so something like this should make for a less picky eater
