We are one week into summer break and already it’s a struggle. My sweet angels who rarely fight are already bickering with each other. I think it’s boredom and the transition to seeing each other all day, every day. Thankfully, I have some fun tricks up my sleeve to keep the kids busy this summer. I’ve also got a giveaway at the end, so stay tuned for that!
A few weeks back I had the pleasure of attending a summer class preview at As You Wish. My family loves painting pottery at As You Wish and I really love their summer courses. This summer the theme is What Color is your Fun?
Each week will feature projects centering around a different color. My OCD loves that they are going in rainbow order, so the first week(6/8) is red and the last week(7/20) is purple. You can sign-up for courses and see all the projects on their website. You can also, head into any As You Wish and they have all the class projects on display. Here’s a sneak peak…
As you can see, it’s not just painting pottery. They have some canvas pieces and some glass art too. Each class is $25 and runs from 9-10:30am. Plenty of projects for girls and boys alike.
For your preview class, the kids got to make a sandwich plate from week 2.
We lucked out and Liz was our teacher. Liz designed the classes and she is artist that paints all of the pieces in all of the stores. She is pretty amazing! Not to mention how great she was with the kids.
The kids had so much fun and loved their plates. I loved how the instructor Liz, made sure none of the children got behind. If they were frustrated or having trouble, she was happy to step in and give guidance and advice. We attended the course preview as guests of As You Wish, but we will for sure be back as paying attendees. Courses start on June 8, 2015. My daughter has been asking non-stop since her preview, when it is time for more classes.
Do you think your kids would enjoy a course at As You Wish? I have some good news! I am giving away two passes for 1 free course. Two passes, so we have two winners. Each winner wins one pass. Classes start soon as winners will have 24 hours to get me their mailing address so I can get the passes to you ASAP. Use the rafflecopter form to enter. Winners must be 18+ and a resident of Arizona. Check out the As You Wish website to find the location nearest you.
