Have you heard of totchos? They are essentially nachos using tater tots instead of chips. Tater tots + Nachos = TOTCHOS! If you haven’t had totchos yet, you are in for a treat! Totchos are delicious! My favorite way to serve up totchos is to put together a Totchos Bar. That way everyone can create their own special totchos recipe. You can get as creative as you want with your Totchos ingredients or keep to the basics.
One thing I’ve learned when I’m putting together any kind of event is that I better start my shopping at Smart & Final. Smart & Final has a great mix of warehouse items and everyday essentials. Today I’m partnering with Smart & Final to tell you all about their new and exciting giving campaign.
Smart & Final recently announced it’s First Street First Percent initiative which gives me one more reason to do my shopping at Smart & Final. The first percent of profits from First Street, Smart & Final’s private label brand, will be donated to the Smart & Final Charitable Foundation. The foundation focuses its donations on health and wellness, education, hunger relief, and team sports and youth development. I really appreciate that Smart & Final donations directly impact the community that I live in. All donations are focused in California, Arizona, and Nevada, where Smart & Final stores are located. When you’re shopping in Smart & Final, be on the lookout for the shelf tags to help you find First Street products.
My family loves trying out food trucks, so I wanted to give them a food truck experience at home. I went to Smart & Final and picked up all the ingredients I would need for my totchos recipe. I was able to pick up serving essentials like snack trays and napkins to sour cream and frozen shrimp. Everything you see below is in the First Street family of products, which means the first percent will be donated.

Totchos Bar
- In an electric skillet, heat one Tablespoon of cooking oil on medium heat. Add 2 lbs of frozen tater tots and evenly distribute in the skillet. Cover with the lid and heat 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Serve tots in a snack tray and layer with your favorite toppings like nacho cheese, chili, salsa, and more.
I kept things simple for the totchos purists, but I like to get a little adventurous with my food. That is why I cooked up some chili lime garlic shrimp and bell peppers. So good!
