My five year old daughter LOVES to have her nails painted. It’s her favorite thing. If she had her way, every single finger and toe would be painted a different color. I also find it is a great way to get some mommy/daughter bonding time in. It’s a fun “no boys allowed” activity in our house. I love how excited she gets, but I don’t really love the chemicals found in nail polish. She is past the point of sucking on her fingers, but she’s a kid and her fingers end up in her mouth plenty.

Nail art on small girls can be a little tricky. Their nails are so teeny tiny. I’ve found that I am the most successful when I keep the designs simple. Below, I did a photo collage of the steps to create some cute and simple nail art with Piggy Paint.
Supplies: Piggy Paint, Blow Dryer, Toothpicks
1. Paint Base coat and blow dry on low heat for 1 minute. That’s about two rounds of the ABC song.
2. Draw flower shapes, dots, hearts,etc on with a toothpick.
3. Add any other colors, like the inside of the flowers and blow dry again to achieve maximum chip resistance.

She really loves her pretty nails. She is already making big plans for all the other colors and designs that she wants.
Piggy Paint also has a special nail polish remover too. I hate using acetone based polish removers, they are just so harsh! I am definitely going to look into getting some of that.
