Summer is in full swing around here. The kids are out of school and it it hot, hot, hot! Today I’m sharing a quick and easy recipe for a Barbecue Chicken Flatbread Pizza. I created this recipe one day when I needed a meal on the table quick. I was craving some barbecue chicken but I didn’t have the time to bake a whole barbecue chicken up myself.
I knew I had some leftover chicken breast and when I saw the KC Masterpiece Barbecue sauce in the pantry, I had a great idea. Why not create a barbecue chicken pizza? Using a flatbread crust really cuts down on the cook time and the calories. It’s a win-win! You can have this recipe on the table from start to finish in less than 30 minutes and it only has 4 ingredients. You can’t get too much simpler than that.
Barbecue Chicken Flatbread Pizza with KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients:
- KC Masterpiece Barbecue sauce
- Chopped Chicken Breast pieces
- Shredded Mozzerella Cheese
- Flatbread of your choice
- Optional: Any of your favorite pizza toppings
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Layer the KC Masterpiece Barbecue sauce, cheese, and chicken on the flatbread. Drizzle some extra barbecue sauce over the top of the cheese.
- Cook on a baking sheet or pizza stone for approximately 5 minutes.
- Turn the oven up to broil and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. It really gets the cheese nice and bubbly.
- For a crispier flatbread, cook just the flatbread in the oven for 3 minutes before you add the pizza topping ingredients.
Did you know that you can grill flatbread pizzas out on the grill too? This is a great option if you don’t want to heat up the house. To grill your pizza, heat the grill to medium heat and make sure your grill is is oiled. Grill the flatbread on one side for 1-2 minutes or until the underside starts to char. Flip the bread over and immediately add your sauce, cheese, and chicken. Close the grill and cook for about 3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
