I love seeing all these re-upholstery projects all over the net. I however do not currently have any furniture that could benefit from a makeover. Then a while back I saw this cute mini high backed chair at Goodwill. I fell in love with it and thought it would be a good project to try upholstering with. I am scared to death though!
Please, please, please give me some tips or links to upholstery projects you have seen around. I would love the help. Even the moral support. I’ve got a bad feeling that mini might not mean easier!
Here is the material I have to cover it with. It was a table runner also found at Goodwill. I am hoping between the front pattern and the solid turquoise back, I will have enough to do the whole chair.

Sorry, no help from me. Re-upholstery kind of frightens me as well. I love that blue fabric though, it will look great on the chair!

I love the idea of patterned front and solid back. I know you will find help, so consider this encouragement.
All I know is, as long as you don’t break the frame, keep trying til you get the look you want.

I love the shape of the chair and I love the fabric you chose. I can’t really help because i haven’t tried upholstery yet either I just have some couch cushions to re do,and i havent gotten the nerve to do it. I’m using some old curtains for mine so we’ll see how it goes! Best of Luck!

That chair is going to be STUNNING! I can’t wait to see how it looks finished. I don’t have any tips, but it can’t be that right right? Go for it! P.S. I love your flower tutorial below, I’m going to make some!

Stopping by from “It’s so very Cheri”
I do upholstery… & it is not that hard. It is mostly stapling… take it apart & use the old pieces as a pattern & then put back togther, as you took it apart. Take the back off 1st & you will see how it is put together…. you may not even have to use the pieces as a pattern, you can lay your fabric over & staple & cut.
The sewing will be in the cushion & the welting/piping. You can look online at how to sites or get a book & they usually walk you thru it.
Good luck!! Can’t wait to see it finished 🙂
