We have covered what I wished the kids wore(Finley and Oliver giveaway), now I can tell you what they did wear.
Joshua was very excited to be turning 5, so I wanted to incorporate that into his sweatshirt. I opted for a mustachioed 5 instead of just a plain mustache. For about a minute I considered giving the 5 some googly eyes, but the hubs and I agreed it read way too ‘Sesame Street.’
I decided on Freezer Paper stenciling and went with Bodoni MT Black for the font. I found an awesome set of 50 free vector mustaches over on PinkMoustache.net. I had to do some converting before I could use them with my laser. I am including the files in SVG format so everyone with a Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot* can cut these out. These designs are property of PinkMoustache.net.
– To download the SVG file, CLICK HERE
– Click the blue “Download Now” button
– Stretch your legs or take a potty break during the 20 second waiting period
– Click the “Download File Now” link to actually save the file.
To make the shirt:
– Cut out your stencils on freezer paper.
– Iron down your freezer paper number.
– Paint just the number first and make sure you give your bottom layer ample drying time. I was impatient and had some problems.
– Iron on your moustache stencil and paint.
All 3 pieces of Morgan’s outfit came from Walmart and came to $11 total. I was happy with her’s because it matched her giant cupcake birthday cake and I just loved the tu-tu and leggings. My mother thought the outfit was ugly “different,” but I liked it and she will wear it again!
One more picture, because she is so darn cute!

Haha..love the five! 😀 I should make something like that for my (12yo) niece…my 16yo dd nicknamed her Mustache, and she is embracing it, lol. (In a totally random way, NOT a meanspirited way! My dd specializes in random. :p )
