Happy November! Now that Halloween is over, its time to head straight into the holidays. My motto when it comes to holiday gift shopping is to shop early and often! Ha! Seriously though, I do love shopping for Christmas presents and I spend a lot of time thinking about and planning gifts for my family, especially my children.
That is why I jumped at the chance to interview a child development expert on giving developmentally appropriate gifts. Dr. Jody Sherman LeVos. She had some really great information on why it’s important to buy developmentally appropriate gifts as well as some great gift recommendations. She works on product development for LeapFrog and she really knows her stuff.
The video is only about 3 minutes, and I highly recommend you watch it. I really learned a lot!

My son wants a Power Wheels (of course, the expensive things). My daughter wants anything girly with peace signs (she would love a bedroom set). My teenage boy wants money I’m sure and clothes… some video games, a car. lol

My teenagers want money. That’ll be easy. LOL

She has some great advice. My daughter thinks she wants things that are for bigger kids and then when she tries to play with them, she gets frustrated because they’re above her level.
