I am sure a lot of people will be able to relate with my school pick-up woes. Every Friday my daughter gets out of preschool at noon and my son has early release and gets out of elementary school at 1pm. There isn’t enough time to go home and feed my preschooler lunch before we get brother from school. Normally, we hit up the drive-thru for lunch or we’ll stop at a quick restaurant to pick up lunch. It works for the time, but I would really prefer a healthier option.
That is why I was so excited to give Kidfresh frozen meals #KFHealthyKids a try. They are all natural with no artificial flavors or preservatives. There are several different varieties for kid with all different preferences. The best news for me is that they also have some hidden vegetable purees hidden in there. My first grader is very opposed to anything vegetable related but he really liked the Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese. You can see my whole shopping experience at Safeway in my Google + album.
Back to the school pick-up situation. I picked up the Muy Cheesy Quesadillas so they would be easy to eat in the car. I took them home and was happy to find them individually wrapped. That makes it perfect for smaller appetites or for a snack instead of a meal. My busy preschooler ate both of them with no problem for her lunch.
I snuck a bite of the quesadillas from her and I was very pleased with the taste. I was specifically trying to detect the carrot puree inside and I didn’t taste it. I think next time I’ll have my son give it a try. I think carrot puree in the quesadillas might have to be my newest ‘mom trick.’
I snapped a quick picture before we went to get brother from school. I was trying to get some smiles, but I should have known better. It is not a good idea to get in the way of a hungry preschooler after she has spent the morning playing and learning. Ha, ha, ha. She just devoured those things.
I will be keeping some Kidfresh meals on hand to have for a quick meal or snack. They are great go-to meal when you are in a hurry. I have some more great news! If you go and visit the Kidfresh page on Facebook, you can get a coupon for $1/off an entree. It is really easy to do and the coupon gets emailed to you. Kidfresh meals are available in the freezer section at Safeway stores.

That is awesome that they have hidden vegetable purees in them! They sound like a much healthier choice than the drive-through!
