Summer time is officially upon us. The kids have been out of school for two weeks and yet we manage to stay just as busy as ever. I think it’s because I enrolled my 5 year old in a Jumpstart Kindergarten program 4 days a week for the month of June.
This month, Michael’s has asked me to participate in the Summer Adventure Blogger Challenge! To help facilitate your own summer adventure, Michael’s introduced the Unplugged Summer Pact. Essentially you are pledging to spend two hours less a day in front of the screen(tv, computer, etc) and more time engaged with your children, friends, or even on yourself. I think it’s a pretty great idea. You can sign the pact HERE.
It is too hot in Arizona to just send the kids out to play, so it’s very tempting to let them veg out all day. If you follow my Instagram, you have probably seen that my daughter and I recently discovered we love doing puzzles together. It has been a lot of fun re-kindling my love of puzzles and being able to include her. My son is now an independent reader, so he has been spending a lot of time reading.
I also plan to get the kids involved in some fun activities over the summer. One of those activities is the Michael’s Passport to Imagination. It’s a 7 week summer crafting camp. I’ll be telling you all about our experience there later this month. The craft camp starts June 17, so check out the link if you are interested in having your children attend. It’s only $2 a class, so you can’t beat the price! I will also be back later this month with a fun craft for kids.
What are your plans for the summer? Are you willing to sign the Unplugged Summer Pact? I hope you do and make the most of your summer!
Disclaimer: I am a Michael’s Challenge Blogger and I was provided a Michael’s gift card to facilitate my project. All opinions, ideas, and crafts are my own.

Thanks for the info about the craft camp. We have a Michael’s less than 5 miles from our house. My kids would love to do that!
