Memorial Day weekend has arrived! That means lots of people are going to be cooking out this weekend. All the bloggers that are a part of #15MinuteSuppers, thought it would be really fun to show you our best gourmet burger recipes that can be made from start to finish in 15 minutes.
You know I like to keep things spicy, so I created a spicy hot wing burger. It’s just the right amount of spicy and it’s got a nice flavorful kick to it. You can cool things off by using some ranch dressing as a burger condiment. It’s all the flavors of a hot wing, in your burger!
Spicy Hot Wing Burger
Yields: 4 burgers
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey or ground meat of your choice
- 1/4 cup chopped pickled jalapenos – use raw jalapenos if you want it really spicy
- 1/4 cup hot wing sauce – Use any brand and spice level you like. Mine was a garlic hot wing sauce, and I love it!
- 4 slices pepper jack or other cheese of your preference
- Ranch dressing, burger toppings, and other condiments of your choosing
- 4 hamburger buns – I used sandwich thins to cut down on some calories
Directions:
- Mix together the ground turkey, wing sauce, and chopped jalapenos. Form into 4 – 1/4 lb patties.
- Oil your preheated grill, with some olive oil on a paper towel. These burgers can stick if your grill isn’t oiled.
- Grill your burgers for 2-3 minutes on each side over direct high heat.
- Turn the grill down to low/medium-low and grill an additional 3-4 minutes. You want your burgers to reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- For the last minute of grilling, place your slice of cheese over the patty until it gets nice and melty.
- Remove from the grill and serve with all of your normal burger condiments. I recommend using some ranch dressing to really bring together the whole hot wing concept.
