I was lucky enough to be chosen again this year to host a #DisneySide party and partner with Mom Select and Disney. They sent me a box of goodies as a jumping off point and I went from there! Today I’m going to share with you a recap of all the fun we had at the party. Then in the next few days I’ll split a few of the more detailed projects into their own post.
Like any good party, I’ll start with the food! My box of Disney goodies came with lots of paper goods to go with the food table. They sent the tablecloth, plates, napkins, cups, the Minnie popcorn boxes, and a cupcake stand which isn’t shown. As I was prepping for the party, I saw most of these same products at Target and Party City, so you should be able to pick them up there. I filled the popcorn boxes with some yogurt dipped pretzels. They were a big hit. The kids liked to cruise by the table and pick some up on their way to different activities.
I also received a Mickey cake pan. We had other plans for dessert but I really wanted to use the pan. I think this the a great solution. I filled some ramekins with chocolate fruit dip for Mickey’s ears and then added fruit for the rest. I added some Mickey cupcake picks to double as skewers. That way we didn’t need to worry about using forks.
Our party doubled as my niece’s birthday party so my sister made this beautiful 5 layer sprinkle cake. It was almost too pretty to eat!
I really wanted the party to be fun for kids and adults so we had a pretty wide range of activities. First up was the photobooth! I’m actually going to do a whole post on this. It was a lot of fun to put together. PureCostumes.com heard we were having a Disney themed party and sent over some fun Disney props for the photo booth to review. I’ll tell you all about those too.
In addition to the props from PureCostumes.com, I also made a few props too. I’ll be sharing how to make your very own princess hair props with the pattern I created too. Here is a sneak peek of the princess hair. I also have a Snow White pattern which isn’t pictured.
Some of the other activities included nail art, coloring, and painting sun catchers. I found Disney themed nail art kits at Walgreens and the coloring posters and sun catchers were also at Walgreens in the Valentine’s Day section.
I hope you’re still with me! I also lucked out because my sister in law has started her own Face Painting business and she agreed to help us out so she could get some more practice in.
Several of the girls opted for butterflies but check out how cool that dragon is(lower right in the collage)!
Oh, one more thing I nearly forgot. Disney sent us some fun party games like trivia, a word search, and bingo. I had the ladies play those games for some prizes.
These were the prizes they could pick from: E.L.F. Good Vs Evil Eye set, Snow White Make-up Bag, Ursula Make-up bag, Aurora/Evil Queen Bag set.
My favorite was the Ursula bag. I had a hard time giving that one up! I was also able to find these at Walgreens, but I linked to the items on Amazon so you could find them easily.
Whew! What a post and what a party. It’s been a long time since I went all out for a party and I forgot not only how tiring it can be but also how rewarding. Everyone had such a wonderful time and everyone really appreciated the effort I put into it. Coming up soon I’ll be sharing more details about the photobooth, goody bags, a tutorial for the princess hair photo props, and maybe some of the recipes I used. They were delicious!
What’s your favorite way to show your #Disneyside? Tell me about it in the comments!
