Last week I had the opportunity to attend a brunch sponsored by Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. This week I get to tell you all about the amazing brunch and share a quick, easy, and delicious recipe using Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry.
The brunch was so amazing! Laura, Pink Cake Plate, was in charge of hosting and she did an amazing job. We got to try all kinds of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry recipes. Just look at all that gorgeous food!
We had lots of sweet treats like you would expect with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry but we also had a few savory dishes. The real show stopper was this salad bowl made with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. The salad was a spinach salad with strawberries, feta, balsamic dressing and fleur de sel croutons. The croutons were made from, you guessed it, Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. I still can not get over how amazing this was. My other favorite was a chicken carbonara pot pie. So good!
I also learned quite a bit about Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry at the brunch. For instance, it is made with the same basic ingredients as pie dough but it is folded several times which makes it puff up from baking because of steam. Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry is a great way to really elevate your dishes when you are entertaining. It is so easy to use.
No detail went ignored at the brunch. The tablescape and place settings were so beautiful. I loved the gold, coral, and mint combination. It really was a wonderful way to welcome spring.
After all the delicious things I tried, I was pretty sure all the ideas for Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry were taken up. Then I remembered a Peanut Butter and Jelly or PB&J bread braid I had made a long time ago. It was good but I do not enjoy the process of making bread. Yeast is finicky and you have to wait for things to rise and it’s just not my favorite. Plus, when I’m entertaining I’m usually in a hurry with a million things to do. This recipe is only 5 ingredients(and two of those are the egg wash)
Well, I’m so excited to tell you how easy and delicious my PB&J braid is with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry. This is a great recipe to start out with if you have never used Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry before.
- 1 sheet Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly of your choice
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp water
- Per the package instructions, let the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry thaw on the countertop for no more than 40 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Unfold the pastry onto a lightly floured baking sheet.
- Spread the center third of the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry with peanut butter. Next gently spread the jelly on top of the peanut butter.
- Cut slits on each side of the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry about one inch apart. End the cut just before the peanut butter and jelly filling.
- Fold the strips into the center by alternating from side to side. This makes the braid design. Press both ends closed to form a seal.
- Beat the egg and water together in a small bowl with a fork. Brush the egg wash onto the braid. Bake 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Let the braid cool at least 20 minutes before serving.
