Today’s mom-life discussion was sponsored by Freedome VPN from F-secure.
Can we stop and take a breath for a second? October has been kicking me in the behind. I have just been feeling super overwhelmed and not on top of things. I jokingly said last night that of all the jobs I have(Wife, mother, cook, maid, tutor, etc., etc., etc) the only one I am succeeding at is chauffeur. I am killing it as far as it goes with getting the kids where they need to be. The stay-at-home aspect of “stay at home mom” is a joke. I am running around like a crazy person from school, music lessons, scouts. It can be overwhelming but I love seeing my kids grow and blossom and have the opportunity to participate in all of these extra curricular activities.
Earlier this month I talked about using Freedome VPN to help keep my personal data safe and secure while using public wi-fi. Since then, I have been actively paying attention to how often I take advantage of the features of Freedome VPN. I also watched on social media how friends are relatives were engaging in activities that would benefit from using a VPN(virtual private network). Here’s just a few examples:
- Paid bills from the school pick-up line. Data encryption for the win!
- Managed bank accounts and credit cards waiting for choir to get out. Again security and peace of mind on a public hotspot.
- Logged on to my google docs from the grocery store to grab an ingredients list.
- Searched Amazon for Christmas presents and DID NOT have those items showing up in ads in other sites. Have you ever had that happen? It feels pretty icky when you see items you’ve searched for in ads.
- Browsed the web waiting for scouts to get out. Browsing is faster and I use less data when advertisers aren’t tracking my activity and delivering ads!
- A friend of mine was on a tropical vacation, set up a VPN and was able to watch a world series game from the beach. Freedome VPN allows you to change your location so you can avoid geo-blocking.
Sometimes I feel a lot like this busy mom in the graphic below. Except I only have two arms to get all of those things done. In an increasing mobile world where everything lives on the “cloud.” I really value the safety, security, and peace of mind that I get from using Freedome VPN. Now if they could only add in that cook dinner functionality, I would be over the moon!
