Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3will be hitting theaters June 16, 2017 and my family can’t wait. The very first Disney•Pixar’s Cars came out the year my oldest was born and he’s grown up with the franchise. So while he may be 11 now, he’s just as excited to see the movie as he was the first two. As my kids get older, I really like that they can start to see some of the themes from the film outside of the plot. Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3 has a really great focus on mentorship and helping others. At 9 and 11, my kids are at an age where they are capable of teaching and mentoring younger children. I’m always on the lookout for those teachable moments where they can spot an opportunity to help someone else.
While I was browsing on Amazon.com, one of my favorite past times, I saw that they had all kinds of really neat Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3 merchandise. I got a really fun idea about how I could use the Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset to teach some basic physics concepts to the kids. The objective is two-fold really. I want my kids to learn something, but I also designed these physics cards with activities that older kids can do with kids age 3 and above.
Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Kid Physics Printable Cards
Supplies:
- Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset available on Amazon.com

Directions:
- Download the Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Printable Kid Physics cards from Google Drive.
- Print on white cardstock
- Cut out the cards
How to Play:
- Each card has a simple explanation of a physics concept including Force, Speed, Mass vs Weight, Friction, Ramp, and Wheel and Axle.
- Each card also has a suggestion for demonstrating the concept with the Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset and discussion starters.
- For younger kids, have them start only with the demonstration and maybe make some observations.
- For older kids, have them read the description or you can read the description to them.
- The cards are meant as conversation starters, so see where else your play can take you.
My kids have been having so much fun playing and teaching each other. I think next visit to Grandma’s house we’re bringing our cards and the Disney•Pixar Cars 3 Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset so the kids can pass on all the cool physics they learned to their younger cousins.

What an awesome idea to teach kids about physics, through interactive play! This would be a great tool to teach my grand kids basic physics, while spending time playing with them. A simple, fun concept, that teaches some cool stuff about why things work the way they do, as I’m sure you know, kids are full of questions at a young age!

This is actually genius! Physics was not necessarily my forte at school but perhaps if I was introduced to it at a younger age, it would have been more interesting for me. Really love the concept of this!

I’m on a quest to teach my child all I can through play. Using Pixar Cars will be an awesome way to make learning physics fun. I can’t wait to present this lesson, um playtime.

I love, love, love the idea to use cartoons/ shows kids love and toys to teach science and physics lessons. I wish these sorts of toy packages were available when I was a kid in the 90s! How fun!

Wow what a wonderful way to get kids to learn physics. With Disney Cars as inspiration this will get them to retain the information. I hope Cars 3 will be a great movie to follow up on the series.

I know my daughter would have loved these toys when she was younger. But she is into the more “adult” version of the Legos now. Despite this, we are both really looking forward to the new movie and hope that it’s going to be great fun. Normally I would worry about the third movie in a series but it’s Pixar and they have a good record.

We have 6 boys at home and they are waiting with baited breath to see Cars 3. When my twins were little (now 11) they watched the original Cars movie over and over again. Our 16-year-old is making plans to take the twins (11) and our 8-year-old to see this over the weekend. They literally can’t stop talking about it. And I am sure these toys will be in the near future of our 3-year-old as well! And I love the STEM learning in these toys. Always a bonus!

How fun is this?! Way to go Disney. I love anything that combines learning and play. I’m definitely going to pick up some of these for my grandson. He’s at the perfect age of being curious, loving all things Disney, and also into cars. I’m sure my husband and I will learn a thing or two while playing it with him! x
